Become a Tribal Twerk Instructor
Tribal Twerk is True Original meaning of Twerk. It`s coming from West Africa from a tribe called Mapouka. It has a 300-year-old tradition where the movement we know as "Twerk" was part of celebrations, weekly woman gatherings and stress release especially around women circles. They have also had a beautiful ceremony to release post-natal depression. In tribal twerk you can forget about what you have known about twerk because here in the west we remember the past 70 years and that it has started in the strip clubs and it’s a highly sexualised dance. As much as I love some songs from Cardi B and Nicki Minaj their representation of Twerk is just not what we want. Twerk or Mapouka has its power to regulate your hormones, release stress, undigested emotions and even traumas. The dance has been designed to cleanse all your chakras through the indigenous dance like the mapouka and Egyptian belly dancing. All our chakras also have the balance of yin and yang and that’s how the strong tribal dance and the feminine snake charmer dance could come to gather during one event. The dance designed to physically move blockages in the body and through breathwork and movements help to release the emotions. Adding on somatic work and yon yoga at the end makes it the perfect practice to host a women circle
